Resumo:
Dada o crescimento da indústria de lançamentos espaciais, e, consequentemente, o aumento da demanda do mercado pelos melhores sítios para a operação, o Centro de Lançamento de Alcântara (CLA) busca impor-se como um forte concorrente mundial na comercialização de serviços de lançamento. Este trabalho, por sua vez, tem por objetivo metodificar o processo de escolha das melhores localidades para a construção de novos sítios no CLA, ajudando no seu processo de expansão. Nesse contexto, será discorrida as principais qualidades do CLA, que são únicas no mundo, sendo a sua proximidade à Linha do Equador a mais forte delas, o que torna a área bastante competitiva por oferecer economias de combustível significativas para um foguete que for operado lá. Em suma, para uma mesma quantidade de propelente, pode-se transportar uma maior massa de carga paga para o espaço. Essa é a característica que mais o torna competitivo. Portanto, a metodologia usada neste trabalho, buscará analisar diferentes critérios envolvidos na qualidade de um sítio de lançamento. Eles serão tratados de forma a melhor aplicarem-se ao caso do CLA, deixando, também, um estudo pertinente para a seleção de sítios em qualquer outra região do Brasil. Por fim, tais critérios serão quantificados e aplicados ao método AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), onde especialistas foram entrevistados a fim de fornecerem suas opiniões de forma objetiva no processo de escolha. Com a entrevista, será obtido o peso associado a cada critério, e, juntamente com as medidas de cada um deles, será possível calcular o score de cada local de construção. Assim, o trabalho fornecerá um ranking, informando qual a melhor área para realizar-se a construção de um sítio de lançamento. Abstract:
Given the growth of the space launch industry, and consequently, the increasing market
demand for the best sites for operation, the Alcˆantara Launch Center (CLA) seeks to
position itself as a strong global competitor in the commercialization of launch services.
This work, in turn, aims to methodize the process of choosing the best locations for the
construction of new sites at CLA, aiding in its expansion process.
In this context, the main qualities of the CLA, which are unique in the world, will be
discussed, with its proximity to the Equator being the strongest, making the area highly
competitive by offering significant fuel economies for a rocket operated there. In essence,
for the same amount of propellant, a greater mass of payload can be transported into
space.
Therefore, the methodology used in this work will seek to analyze different criteria
involved in the quality of a launch site. They will be addressed in a way that best applies
to the case of the CLA, also leaving a relevant study for the selection of sites in any other
region of Brazil.
Finally, such criteria will be quantified and applied to the AHP method (Analytic
Hierarchy Process), where experts were interviewed in order to provide their standpoint
in the selection process, without having contact with the site options, in order to reduce
bias. Through the interview, the weight associated with each criterion will be obtained,
and, together with the measures of each one, it will be possible to calculate the score of
each construction site. Thus, the work will provide a ranking informing which is the best
area for the implementation of a launch site.
